Stayed for a night as we were visiting friends in Heerlen. Very comfortable rooms and the beds were among the best I’ve slept on. The location is good, but being in the middle of an hospital complex kinda hinders the view. Would be happy to stay again though !
We were selecting a hotel for this weekend trip very carefully. Our main focus was comfort and safety of our three year old kid. We are very happy with how things turned out. The extra bed for the kid was good. The late arrival (way past midnight) was effortless. We carried the sleeping kid from the car and put him into his bed. There was no need to change, arrange or re-arrange something at that late hour. This was very important for us!
Some general comments. The room was clean! Bright crisp bedsheets, white towels, no dust on the upper shelf, clean toilet and shower.
The breakfast terrace is lovely. The food was good. The juice machine was very attractive for our kid. Small Prosecco bottles (on ice) were a nice touch :)
In October 2023, we celebrated our wedding at "Hotel de Rousch!" and would like to share our overall experience.
- Staff/Execution 6/5: throughout the entire event, the staff displayed exceptional thoughtfulness, professionally and seamlessly blended into the background when needed. For instance, when the inclement weather forced us to set up a table for 8 children inside the ceremony room after the official ceremony, the preparation was flawlessly organised and unobtrusive. The staff demonstrated a profound emotional connection and took a proactive approach to cater to our needs without ever seeming intrusive.
- Room quality and room setup: 6/5 - the rooms were exceptional. Immaculately clean, in a modern style and equipped with every amenity you need. The bed very comfortable, and the view from my window was amazing. Also, the hotel provides a great accommodation option which allows to create an interconnected area of multiple rooms to continue to celebrate after the wedding if required. This is very nice concept which I didn’t see so far in other hotels. A beneficial perk for our setup was that 2 families were allowed to bring their dogs into the hotel.
- Food / Quality 6/5: half of our guests were vegetarians. It was very much surprising how many food variations the hotel offered for our 5 course menu. When Nigel heard that half of the guest were coming from India, he followed up with his Indian chef and offered a dedicated Indian curry. Our Indian guests were pleasently surprised to find such a great Indian curry at our wedding. The overall food quality was excellent.
- Stereo equipment: 4/5 - this might depend on the room of celebration. We had two rooms and in one room the sound was “improvable”. Lowering the room's volume proved to be quite beneficial (and, to be candid, during the wedding ceremony, the focus is unquestionably elsewhere ;-)).
- Wedding room decoration: 5/5 - the hotel has two lovely outdoor locations for wedding ceremonies: the inner courtyard and a picturesque spot right by the water, complete with ducks and swans. Unfortunately, inclement weather forced us to have the ceremony indoors. To our delight, both the bride and I were pleasantly surprised by the room's decor in the hotel. We had initially booked what the hotel offered officially, but they went the extra mile by adding additional decorations to create a truly beautiful setting.
Nigel Beckers and his team went above and beyond for our wedding… So, on a beautiful day in October, we got our dream wedding in ”Hotel de Rousch!” (Heerlen). If possible, we would also give 6* ;)
We had a lovely staying for couple of nights, and I can tell you that is the best choice if you wanna stay in the area.
The stuff was very friendly, the room was spacious and clean, with big comfy bed but also the hotel stuff made sure that also my little one has his own bed in the room.
The breakfast was also very nice and everything was very fresh, but that come with the cost that if many guests attend the breakfast then there is a waiting time to have pancakes for example but overall was nice, even tho I believe is the one thing that needs a bit of improvement.
I fully recommend the hotel restaurant. And that comes from a guy that all my life is related with hospitality and service and food.
The restaurant is amazing, very good flavors and very nice environment. (There can be some improvements, for example the time between dishes, but the food was so nice that even that we didn’t bother)
Yes, the restaurant is a gem!
(Didn’t make pictures from the other plates, because we were more interested to taste than take a pic 😅)
If you are searching for "heaven on the earth", this will be the right place to go!
It's a romantic hotel. You can choose a wellness suite which is including hot bath tub as well as sauna! The staff are very friendly, the breakfast is perfect and the rooms are flawless! I do love this hotel.
Quiet due to its location, great facilities, and all the staff I encountered was friendly, they also gave me a free upgrade (thank you). I will definitely go back in my upcoming trips to Heerlen.
The small downside was that because I was on a high floor, it was very windy and in combination with the design of the room and its ventilation system, the wind was heard quite loudly in the room, like someone was vacuum cleaning.
Very pleasant modern hotel. Spotlessly clean large bedroom. Could do with a bit more storage provision. Plenty of space for it too! Unusual light switching arrangements in bedroom, which took us a while to work out. Very good breakfast.
Really pleasant 1 night stay here, I was upgraded to the suite on arrival. The room was really modern and spacious.
Staff were extremely friendly and good English. Overall really happy with my stay and it will be my first choice hotel next time.
